Dance Therapy Sessions

Seeing dance therapy clients involves a dynamic and expressive interaction where both the therapist and the client communicate through movement and body language. Dance therapy, or movement therapy, uses dance as a form of psychotherapy to explore emotional, psychological, and physical experiences. We see both children and adults.

Sessions are held at our dance studio. Please contact us below for more information.

As a dance therapist, Susie creates a safe, supportive space where clients are encouraged to express themselves freely through movement. The process often begins with an assessment of the client's needs and emotional state, followed by the use of guided movement exercises, improvisation, and symbolic movement to help the client explore their emotions and inner experiences.

Susie might observe the client's body language, posture, gestures, and movement patterns to understand underlying feelings or unresolved issues. Through movement, Susie can help clients release tension, reduce anxiety, and process trauma.

Every session is unique to the client, focusing on their individual needs, whether that’s fostering self-expression, healing from past trauma, or improving body-mind connection. There may be moments of silence, allowing space for introspection, or moments of verbal communication to reflect on the movement process. The goal is to use movement as a means to access deep emotions and facilitate healing, empowerment, and self-discovery.
